An essence is usually lighter in texture. It primarily moisturizes and prepares the skin for subsequent care products.

A serum contains a higher concentration of active ingredients such as niacinamide, vitamin C or retinal and is used specifically for certain skin needs.

Most essences and serums are suitable for daily use – morning and/or evening.

When using active ingredients like retinal, vitamin C, or chemical peels, you should start slowly (2–3 times per week) and monitor your tolerance. Always follow the product's directions for use.
